Curry leaf seeds are not widely sold, but some people may be blessed with seeds from people growing curry leaf plants.

Sowing

It is convenient to use a vinyl/plastic (of course earthen ware is just fine as well) small pot for seedling cultivation. When fruits are ripe and dark red, remove seeds from flesh of fruit and bury them in soil to a depth of about 2 cm. Lightly press the soil from the top and compress the soil before watering. Frequent watering will cause the seeds to rot, so once watering well, it is good to put rice husk or shredder scraps and so on until sprouting so that the pot soil does not dry. It is also effective to block direct sunlight by covering the pot with fine net. (The soil dries faster when exposed to direct sunlight)

After the seed sprouted

Germination is a happy event! A small leaf is attached to the end of the trunk thinner than the toothpick. You will not too much worry about wilting, but excessive watering will damage the roots. Remember the weight of the pot when it was watered, and it is good to water it when it is lighter.

For the first time over winter

In many cases, it is a seedling grown soon after sowing seeds in summer. So, it is recommended to overwintering indoors. Let’s be careful about the spider mites and scale insects caused by dryness around the seedlings.

The seedling which passed winter

It sprouts in August and is a seedling of about 10 months.
The upper part of the red line is the part grown after the spring and the leaves are glossy also larger than the lower part.

Below the red line is the part grown by the last winter. The gloss of the leaves is gone. Leaves will fall at a high probability, but if the stem tip has sprouted, the plant will continue to grow.

Transplant

When it is spring and the temperature reaches 25 ° C, transplant it to a large pot. If there is no problem with the area to grow, transplant it to pots with 18cm diameter or more. Akadama soil is put in place of bottom stone and it is all right to put commercial culture soil on it. If you are experienced in cultivation, you may try using the method of transplanting and the contents of the soil you are used to.
